new camera

I "won" a new camera this evening. I love how ebay lets you win things then still expect payment.
I wanted a decent digital camera for a long time, and Krystal and I decided tonight that we are missing too many "Canon" moments. Our point and shoot does not cut it. After much research I decided I wanted the Canon XSI. After some consulting with Krystal, I decided the Canon XTI was what I wanted, and could afford. I got a package with multiple lenses, flash, carrying bag, and other goodies. I can't wait to start shooting.

Planters Cheez Balls/Curls

I still can't believe Planters stopped making Cheez Balls/Curls in the cans. I kept thinking I just was not looking in the right stores, but it is official. Planters hates customers. They were by far the best. I could get a giant tub of cheese balls at Sams club, but I would rather have the delicious goodness of the little can of balls for $.99, even if it would take 49 cans to fill one of those $3 tubs. And the curls were way better than Cheetos. I did see similar looking cans at Menards over the weekend, and was very excited, hoping that they bought that sector of Planters, and bought some. They are not anything like the originals. Just thought you should all be aware of my bitter feelings. Between that and lemon heads coming in a package that does not whistle anymore, I don't know what I am going to do.

No real updates

Sorry, even though I am updating, I don't really have any updates. The baby blog has been updated regularly, so check that out if you are looking for updates. :) Otherwise much of my time has been spent readying for the little man. Working on the house, going to baby classes, showers, and looking at the clearance section of every store that sells baby stuff.
Other than that, the flooring is done, grass needs to be mowed, still obsessed with shaving, and hate basements that flood when owners are out of town (OK, that flood in general, but it never happens when the owners are home).

Real American Hero

On the way to our home town over the weekend we were cruising along highway 20. There was a truck in the right lane, just before we catch up to it, a car that had been behind the truck pulls in to the left lane. I also pull in to the left lane, because I assume the car is going to pass this truck, and I would like to do the same. The car pulls up along side the truck, then decides that it likes the speed that the truck is going, and goes the exact same speed for a couple minutes. I am obviously frustrated, but soon enough, the truck driver hammers on his gas, and pulls in front of the car. His break lights then go on, and I see him wave me around. I could not believe it, this guy is AWESOME, I thought. Then I look in the rear view mirror to see the truck speed up again and pull up along side another car, then slow down, trapping the first car behind them. About half an hour later, the truck passed me, and the guy waved. This guy is my hero. They need a Bud Light commercial to honor him.

hand turned brush

I am sure you are all excited to read about shaving stuff more... Sorry, obsession continues. Anyway, Over the weekend I turned a handle for a shave brush. I have been putting coat after coat of polyurethane on it ever since, and I finally decided it was enough, and epoxyed the knot in this evening. I found the silver tip badger knot online, and my dad has more wood than we will ever find a use for. Pictures are in my gallery, check it out if you are interested. Also I uploaded the razors that I got from the antique dealer as a reward for following her thief around.

failure at life

I stumbled upon this story on Yahoo news, and thought it was worth commenting on. This guy put a $12,000 engagement ring in a balloon, so he could "pop" the question, and walked outside and let it blow away. First of all, why did it need to be helium filled? Second, a balloon with a $12,000 ring in it should be tied to your wrist or something. Third, this is really funny.
